What does AHA serum do?
Jun 04 , 2021

Alpha Hydroxy Acids or AHAs are a group of naturally occurring chemical compounds.  AHAs are derived from animal or plant products (such as fruits and milk).  They are commonly used in anti-aging skin care products as these acids help in reducing signs of aging (such as wrinkles, dark spots, and fine lines) and improve the skin texture and elasticity.

AHAs are primarily used to exfoliate your skin. This helps remove dead skin cells but also makes way for new skin cell generation. As you age, your natural skin cell cycle slows down, which can make dead skin cells build up. When you have too many dead skin cells, they can accumulate and make your complexion look dull. What does AHA serum do?

AHAs Are The Best Exfoliators For Your Skin

Usually, AHAs (glycolic, citric acid, and lactic acids) are gentle on the skin and do not cause any irritation. Neutriherbs AHA Serum, featuring the combination of glycolic, lactic, and citric acid, can visibly eliminate the dead cell skin. These acids act as chemical exfoliants. They dissolve the intercellular bonds (the bonds between your skin cells) and facilitate the natural shedding process of your skin, helping you get rid of the dead skin cells easily, revealing softer, smoother, and brighter skin. Powerful soothing ingredients Calendula and Chamomile help to reduce its irritation to the skin.

Help Treat Acne

7% AHA complies with international cosmetics regulations. AHAs also help treat mild to moderate levels of acne.  Clogged skin pores cause acne, and AHAs can help remove the clogs. They also prevent any further clogging.

Reducing Hyperpigmentation And Sun Damage

Regular use of AHA products or peels may help to treat hyperpigmentation or dark marks on the skin

Dermatologists often use AHA peels for these purposes, as they can work on deeper layers of the skin than over-the-counter (OTC) products.

How to Use?

1. Apply 2-3 drops to clean, dry skin. Use 2-3 times a week at first. It can be used daily when your skin is used to it.

2. Avoid using anti-aging and whitening skincare products, such as retinol, vitamin c serum and niacinamide and so on. Hydrating products is recommended to use after this serum.

3.Do not use on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes both during application.

4. If irritation occurs, cease use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin. Patch testing prior to use is advised.
